"[A] piece that bothers me greatly is this kind of sexism that exists in terms of how people make decisions about the movies they want to see: a movie about a man or a boy is seen as universal in our culture, whereas a movie about a woman is seen as a niche or special or off the beaten track. We’re 50% of the population, our stories should be of equal importance to the culture! But we’re not taught that. And these guys in Hollywood have been acculturated to believe that stories about men matter more. And that’s how it all begins."
